Why Stage Dreams?

a) The New Competency- based Curriculum; elevated Preforming Arts to a core

youth employment.
b) Secondary Schools are overwhelmed; by the level of talent and passion students
exhibit - producing music, dance, drama, comedy and film pieces that qualify to be
instant hits on the global market.
c) Unfortunately; only less than 5% out of over 4,000 Secondary Schools in Uganda
offer Performing Arts as an examinable subject hence learners with talent can’t be
identified, developed and exposed.
d) School Projects and community involvement; As other students engage in their
mandatory Projects and community work, learners doing several Performing Arts have
a limited practical and field work scope.
e) Career path and start-ups; High school graduates of Performing Arts, if not
supported, have a more challenging take-off and entrepreneurial platform.
